Famous TV House Goes Up for Auction
If you walk down O’Neill Street, you’d be forgiven for missing it entirely. I know I did on many occasions. From the curb, number 82 blends perfectly into the historic streetscape of the Brennan’s Estate Heritage Conservation Area. It looks exactly like what it always was: a modest, single-storey workers’ cottage anchoring a 290sqm corner block. Clean lines, a neat facade, and a deep front garden that feels entirely traditional. But step across the threshold, and the heritage illusion shatters. This is what I discovered at the second opening on yet another hot and sunny Saturday in Sydney. I’d missed the first opening because I was fixated on seeing 65 Edith Street, Leichhardt, and that did not disappoint.

In February 2025, a dilapidated, unrenovated two-bedroom Federation semi at 65 Edith Street, Leichhardt sold under the hammer for $1.787 million. Roughly 20 months later, it was back on the market with a $3.25 million auction guide. Same 335m² block. Completely different house.

219 Nelson Street is probably one of the most charming houses along the street. When I saw the listing and the sign go up, I was pretty excited to finally poke my head inside. From the street it looks huge, with its double frontage. It’s also one of those houses I walk past all the time.
$8M, but does it work for multigenerational living?
This house becomes even more interesting when you look at where it started. 120–122 Lawson Street sold in July 2011 for $1.15M. At the time it was essentially a rundown property made up of two former terraces that had later been converted into commercial space. The old marketing records show a very different property.

The warehouse dream that keeps stalling at $2M
We all love a good warehouse conversion. This one just went back on the market, and it’s a perfect example of why the dream and the number rarely agree with each other. Warehouse conversion always attracts a crowd in the Inner West and this was no different.
The house that passed in at $5.25m and sold for $5.2m
Purchased in June 2023 for $3,015,000, what followed was a substantial redevelopment. Not just a new kitchen and bathroom, but essentially a new house, complete with swimming pool and car stacker. Naturally, I was curious to see how it would all come together. When it finally came onto the market in March 2026, I went inside. And then I stalked it for months.
c1850 Cottage - Perfect but not quite right
Australia Street in Newtown is probably one of my favourite streets, where everything I love is just right down the road. It’s also home to the Police Station, Courthouse and Fire Brigade. Safe and entertaining without even having to hit King Street, which is just down at the end of Australia Street.
A warehouse conversion where bigger isn't always better
I first saw this listing on BresicWhitney’s off-market listing with an inspection by appointment only. Then 2 weeks later I saw it listed on Domain and realestate.com.au and knew that I had to attend the first opening. I had a gut feeling someone would fall in love with this one and it would be gone before the next opening. With my cheque in tow — ha, just kidding. The guide is listed at $4.35M.
The cottage facade hiding a full architectural transformation
The facade of this cottage doesn’t scream, it says, “I’m a beautifully small, well-kept, clean and crisp white cottage moments from the heart of Annandale.” Well, at least that’s what I thought when I walked past this house on my way for my usual coffee on Booth Street. But as I stood in front of the house, I noticed the extension on the side — hang on, there’s more to this.
The architect's own home
Susan Lane and Susan Street are tucked away from the main street, away from the hustle and bustle of Booth Street. I wasn’t expecting much as I had seen a few houses there and, being the rear end of some properties from Taylor St.
The burgundy apartment that isn't beige and forgettable
I love a property that is a little different. Not your beige and white, easily forgettable property where I walk out and can’t remember a damn thing I saw or why I even went to the open home in the first place. I won’t lie, this property didn’t make it into my search at all for some reason.
A cherished family home
When I saw the listing photos for this home I knew I had to see it. A 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom gorgeous family home with a garden, located right in the heart of Newtown. It looked picture perfect. The other reason I wanted to see it was a little closer to home — to see whether it was suitable for a multigenerational family.
Beautiful kitchen with an eye watering strata fees
This unit caught my eye because I’ve been following an Inner West buyer’s agent for quite some time — she owns this property. I saw her do the 9-month reno reveal, then a week or two later I saw the listing with the same kitchen and thought, hang on a minute, I know that kitchen. And I was right.
